Spindle

Docs

Everything here describes what Spindle actually does. Network: Mainnet.

How Spindle works

A Spindle has a name, an asset (SOL or one classic SPL token) and 2 to 20 recipients (up to 16 for tokens), each with a weight in basis points (1% = 100) that add up to exactly 10,000. Recipients and weights are set once at creation and can never be edited.

When you create a Spindle, Spindle generates a brand-new Solana wallet just for it: its deposit address. You send revenue there from any wallet, app or exchange. Spindle's server holds that wallet's key, encrypted, and pays whatever arrives out to the recipients by their weights. Creating a Spindle is free and needs no transaction: you only sign a message to prove which wallet is the creator.

Payouts and rounding

A payout always sends the entire balance of the deposit wallet at that moment, in one transaction. Each share is floor(amount × weight ÷ 10,000); the few base units left by rounding go to the recipient with the largest weight (the first one on a tie), so the deposit wallet always ends at exactly zero.

Fees and costs

Automatic payouts

Spindle's worker checks every deposit wallet every few seconds and pays it out once the balance is worth it (0.01 SOL or 1 whole token by default), so fees don't eat small amounts. Anyone can also press Pay out now on a Spindle's page to pay any amount immediately; the money can still only go to its recipients. Failed attempts are retried with growing delays and shown on the Spindle's page.

The agent

The Spindle agent reads real data through a fixed set of tools and prepares drafts. It cannot create Spindles or move money: a new Spindle opens in the creation wizard for you to review, and a payout shows a card you must confirm. Addresses must come from what you typed; the server rejects drafts containing addresses that didn't. “My routes” needs a wallet sign-in (a signed message, not a transaction). Conversations stay in your browser tab.

Creator rewards

Claim your creator rewards as you normally would, then send them to your Spindle's deposit address. Because the deposit address is an ordinary wallet held by Spindle's server, don't set it as a launchpad recipient that must sign to claim: nobody will sign that claim for you. Use a wallet you control, claim, then send.
